Product details
Polish light tank from the early days of World War II. The 7TP tank was a key component of the Polish armored forces in 1939, alongside tankettes (e.g., TKS). The 7TP was designed at the National Machine Engineering Works in Ursus, where it was also produced starting in 1935. The tank is an evolution of the British Vickers E, for which Poland acquired the license in the early 1930s. The first 24 units of the 7TP were vehicles with two turrets, while the subsequent series units (produced from 1937) had a single turret, and the main armament was a 37 mm Bofors anti-tank gun. The 7TP tank was a technically advanced design for its time. It was one of the first in the world to feature a diesel engine, a reversible periscope, and, in some instances, radio transmitters with a range of up to 25 km. During the September campaign, around 130 tanks of this type in all variants were deployed. The 7TP proved to be a formidable opponent on the battlefields in September 1939, superior to the German Pz.Kpfw I and II, and at least on par with the Pz.Kpfw III and IV. Technical specifications: Weight 9.4-9.9 t, engine power: 110 hp, speed: 37 km/h, armament (single turret version): 1 Bofors 37 mm gun, 1 Wz.30 machine gun caliber 7.92 mm.
