CAT6a cables are an updated version of CAT6 cables. These cables provide a convenient and reliable connection from one network device, such as a switch, modem, or router, to another or to the overall infrastructure via a patch panel, keystone jack, or wall outlet. This cable is also commonly used in small office and home networks as well as in entertainment applications. The cables are tested up to 500 MHz / 1000 Mbps (CAT6a standard) and are backward compatible with CAT6, CAT5e, and CAT5 cables. They are manufactured with a locking mechanism that prevents the connector from being damaged when installing the cable in tight spaces. Additionally, these cables are made with shielding that protects against electromagnetic interference (EMI). EMI can lead to crosstalk between circuits, resulting in data degradation, increased errors, and slower transmission rates. However, by using this shielded cable, you can avoid this issue.
