The Mustang came with a 170 cubic inch six-cylinder base engine with a three-speed manual transmission, full wheel covers, bucket seats, carpeted flooring, and a padded dashboard—all for a base selling price of $2,320. An optional 260 cubic inch V8 engine was also available.
