With a surround sound field above the listeners, the sound space is fundamentally expanded. A future firmware update will enhance compatibility with the new 3D sound environment, enabling the NR1607 to decode DTS:X soundtracks as well.

At the same time, the NR1607 supports Ultra High Definition video content: its powerful video unit is compatible with all 8 HDMI inputs featuring HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 specifications. All modern video formats can be passed through to Ultra HD TVs and projectors. With 4K Ultra HD video at 60 Hz, 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling, HDR, and 21:9 video, as well as 3D and BT.2020 passthrough support, it is ready for the next generation of Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and downloaded or streamed 4K Ultra HD content.
