Cat6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are used for signal transmission with high data transfer rates of up to 1 Gbps. Due to the high signal frequencies, special care is required during installation and assembly, particularly at the connection points of the wires. The individual wire pairs in Cat6 are twisted at different tightness levels, which further reduces susceptibility to interference compared to Cat5e.
