LWL (Optical Fiber)
While a conventional signal in a copper cable is subject to electrical interference, optical cables operate flawlessly even under the most challenging conditions. Additionally, optical fibers do not affect electronics. Due to the low attenuation of optical cables, distances of up to 550 m can be bridged.
Multimode with fiber diameter of 50/125 µm
The fiber optic cable consists of three layers. The core of the optical medium has a diameter of 50 µm and is made of glass, which transmits the information. It is surrounded by a cladding with a diameter of 125 µm that reflects stray light. The outer coating provides protection against mechanical damage and is made of plastic.
LC Connector
The LC connector is a high-performance optical fiber connector for singlemode and multimode applications, featuring an insertion loss of only 0.1 dB and a return loss of 55 dB. The design of the LC connector is based on a single-fiber ceramic ferrule with a diameter of 1.25 mm for an optical fiber.
