When transmitting data via fiber optics to the home (FTTH), GPON technology provides a reliable solution: A GPON-based network architecture is characterized by flexible bandwidths of up to 1G and high ranges. The optical network with gigabit speed is low-maintenance and cost-effective due to its components, making it reliable and scalable. Direct connection to GPON-FTTH networks without a separate provider modem
Previously, an additional fiber modem had to be interposed between the fiber connection in the home and the router, but now the LANCOM SFP-GPON-1 takes over the necessary conversion of incoming data signals. This eliminates the need for modem cabling and installation, as well as the installation of an additional power supply.
