Best suited as a general smoke detector. With the silence button, you can turn off the operation, for example, while grilling steaks, and the alarm will reactivate automatically after about 10 minutes. Smoke detectors should always be placed on the ceiling, as centrally as possible in the room. For safety, the best option is to get an optical smoke detector and a carbon monoxide detector if there is a fireplace or a gas stove in the premises.
