Product details
The KEF Q500 is the smallest tower in the new Q series, designed with compact dimensions in mind. The improvements in transient response and bass quality are remarkable; all new Q models sound significantly more mature and refined than their certainly capable predecessors.
A masterpiece of a special kind is the serrated edge suspension, which connects the membranes of the mid-bass drivers to the basket. This construction allows for massive excursions without hindering the radiation of the tweeter; the continuously rising surrounds act as barriers for the tweeter and alter the signal shape.
The floorstanding speakers showcase their advantages in bass reproduction quality and handling large dynamic ranges. The Q500 surprises with an unusual level of homogeneity and smoothness for its class.
You can choose from three new floorstanding speakers, all featuring the same technology designed for music lovers: a next-generation Uni-Q mid/high-frequency driver paired with a long-throw bass driver of the same size and two matching passive radiators.
The difference lies in the size of the drivers: 130 mm in the Q500, 165 mm in the mid-sized Q700, and class-leading 200 mm in the flagship of the series, the impressive Q900.
As front speakers in a home theater system, these high-performance devices can effortlessly fill the room with a complex and extremely tangible soundscape.
As an audience member, you will notice the exceptional clarity of voices and the seamless transition of frequencies. Thanks to a massive bass extension and the flawless three-dimensional soundstage, a phenomenal illusion unfolds, making you feel as if you are right in the middle of the action.
