Ixxat CANbridge NT 200, Configurable Bridge/Router for CAN

This device allows for the easy coupling of networks, including those with different bit rates or frame formats (11/29-bit identifiers). The bridges/routers are equipped with a powerful microcontroller that can perform message filtering, ID translation, and data multiplexing even during bursts and at high data rates without message loss.

Operating Principle:
Unlike a CAN repeater, which only translates electrical signals, the bridge/router fully receives messages and then sends them to the other network while considering filtering, translation, mapping, and multiplexing rules (store-and-forward principle). Using mapping tables, message exchange between all four networks is possible. With the help of filtering and translation rules, CAN messages can be filtered or modified. This reduces bus load in the individual networks, as only messages of interest to the other network are transmitted. Data multiplexing allows for the mapping of, for example, CAN data onto multiple standard CAN messages.

Configuration:
The configuration of the CANbridge NT can be easily done via USB using the supplied Windows-based configuration tool. The tool allows for simple configuration of filtering, mapping, multiplexer, or translation rules without requiring programming knowledge.
