CAN/CAN FD repeater with fiber optic interface and Sub-D9 connection, galvanically isolated (without bus termination resistor). The CAN-CR110/FO repeater with two CAN/CAN FD channels (one of which is an optical fiber interface) is designed to convert the CAN signal from copper wire (ISO 11898-2) to fiber optic. It can be used to increase the load capacity of the CAN bus with nodes, for the physical coupling of CAN/CAN FD bus systems, or to introduce galvanic isolation. The CAN FD repeater provides the necessary flexibility to optimize the structure of CAN/CAN FD networks and liberate CAN networks from the constraints of bus topology. It can be used for implementing tree or star topologies as well as spur lines. Since no bus termination resistor is integrated, it offers flexibility in positioning resistors for CAN termination. An advantageous feature is that the CAN FD repeater isolates a faulty segment from the rest of the network, allowing the remaining network to continue functioning. Once the fault is resolved, the segment is automatically reconnected to the network. The galvanic isolation is implemented for both the CAN/CAN FD segments and the power supply, reliably enhancing the protection of the device against damage to the electronics due to voltage spikes. The CAN-CR110/FO is available in versions with and without integrated bus termination resistors.
