The model kit is a replica of the VW Type 82 Kübelwagen. Rommel was the first general to use the Volkswagen during the military operation in France. He was so impressed that later, while leading the Afrika Korps, he ordered more and more vehicles. Despite its modest power of just 24 hp and rear-wheel drive, the Kübelwagen was immediately distinguished by its enormous efficiency in all types of terrain.
