Among the most well-known and popular models is the "J-40" series, which was produced from the 1960s to the 1980s. From 1977 onwards, the Land Cruiser also became known in Germany. The J-40 was available in three different wheelbases: short (BJ-40), medium (BJ-44), and long (BJ-45).
