Italeri 1:72 Dornier Do 217 K-1/K-2 mit Fritz-X

The twin-engine high-wing bomber Dornier Do 217 was extensively used by the German Luftwaffe during World War II. Versatile and adaptable, it could conduct bombing raids, attacks on naval targets, as well as night fighter missions in its various variants. The Dornier Do 217K version was characterized by a reinforced fuselage, revised wings, and more powerful engines. It was specifically modified to carry and deploy the guided glide bomb Ruhrstahl SD 1400 "Fritz X" – a groundbreaking development of that time – on an underwing pylon. In this configuration, the Do 217K was primarily used in the Mediterranean region. On September 9, 1943, the Italian battleship "Roma" was hit and sunk by a Fritz X off the coast of Sardinia.
