The high level of motorization in the Wehrmacht units was one of the reasons for the rapid campaigns in the early stages of World War II. Special off-road vehicles used at the front helped successfully accomplish combat and support tasks. Light standard off-road vehicles in the form of command, anti-aircraft, and communication vehicles were found in many units of the German army. The vehicles were quite complex in design, which is why they were present in relatively small numbers in the Wehrmacht units - around 13,000 units.
