ICM Unimog S 404 with box body,German military truck

The military vehicle Unimog S was used by units of the Bundeswehr to tackle a variety of tasks. In addition to the standard cargo version, the variant of the vehicle with a box body also gained wide popularity. Companies such as Gias, Harmenig, Zweirad-Union, BINZ, Voll, and others were involved in the production of these closed bodies. Approximately 16,000 vehicles were equipped with such bodies. Many of them were fitted with a heating system, known as a turbo heater. Over time, the appearance of these bodies changed, leading to variants with different types of hatches and windows. Protective grilles with ventilation slots could also be used for the windows. The versions of the Unimog S with a closed body, referred to in Germany as "Kofferaufbau," had the longest lifespan of all Unimog S trucks.
