Product details
Due to the need to train pilots for operating such an unusual aircraft as the MiG-25, a training version of the new MiG was developed and tested. The prototype was based on the interceptor. Interest in the twin aircraft was also expressed by the customer, the air defense forces. The aircraft was officially established by a resolution of the military-industrial commission of the Council of Ministers of the USSR on July 7, 1965. The front part of the aircraft was redesigned up to the first spar to accommodate the instructor's cabin. Serial production of the MiG-25PU began in 1970 in Gorky and continued until 1985. A total of about 180 units of this aircraft were produced.
