Product details
The Ki-21 bomber was designed as an aircraft for long-range bombing missions, which were carried out from Japanese bases in Manchuria over Soviet territory. Series production began in 1938, the same year this aircraft made its combat debut. The Ki-21 bomber, also known as the Army Type 97 Heavy Bomber, was a twin-engine all-metal monoplane with a crew of six. It featured excellent aerodynamics that allowed it to achieve high speeds during flight. The Ki-21-Ib variant was the second production modification of the Ki-21 bomber series and had enhanced machine gun armament, including a rear machine gun turret, partially protected fuel tanks, and modified tail lights. The bombers were produced by two factories: Nakajima and Mitsubishi.
