Product details
In 1939, Renault began developing the AH series of trucks without a bonnet for the French Army. One of these was the AHN, with a capacity of 3.5 tonnes. The first prototype was presented in February 1940. The vehicle had a rather simple design with a flat cab and no bonnet. Series production started in March 1941, already under the direction of the German occupation administration. After the Allies liberated the factory where these vehicles were produced in 1944, truck production resumed. The modification known as AHN2 went into series production. The vehicle was used for military needs in France but was also sold to civilians. Production of the truck ran from November 1944 to June 1946, with a total of 8,400 units delivered.
