Painting sponges are an essential tool for creative work with color. These round sponges are soft, absorbent, and comfortable to hold. The painting sponges are simply dipped into the paint. Afterwards, you can paint large areas with the color. When priming the painting surface with painting sponges, you avoid the typical streaky texture associated with brushes. For a smudged look or for gently dabbing on color, a painting sponge is always very helpful. You can work with both a damp and a dry sponge.
