Retain Your Hard Drive (DMR – Defective Media Retention): In the event of damage to the hard drive, the customer can keep the sensitive data.

The customer retains control over defective storage media. An authorized HP technician will perform a diagnostic check on the hard drive and may provide a replacement part. The old defective hard drive remains with the customer to ensure data security. This service is offered as an on-site service the next business day. The service covers the costs for remote support, labor, a replacement hard drive, and the retention of the defective hard drive component by the customer.
