Retain Your Hard Drive (DMR – Defective Media Retention): In the event of damage to the hard drive, the customer can keep the sensitive data.
The control over defective storage media remains with the customer. An authorized HP technician will perform a fault diagnosis on the hard drive and, if necessary, provide a replacement part. The old defective hard drive stays with the customer to ensure data security. This service is also offered as an on-site service on the next business day. The service covers the costs for remote support, labor, a replacement hard drive, and the retention of the defective hard drive component by the customer.
