The J-5001 is the first F/A-18 C registered in Switzerland in the history of our Air Force. It is also considered a primus inter pares in a way. No other Hornet can look back on such a number of fired radar-guided air-to-air missiles AMRAAM.

The same applies to the 9X Sidewinders mounted on the wingtips. Only the J-5001 is also equipped with measuring devices for Armasuisse, which evaluates the live missions. All these components are used in the so-called live firings. The logo from 2019 under the cockpit is a testament to one of these missions.

Similar to the warbirds from the past era, the J-5001 features symbols of the downed drones and missiles. This "nose art" is traditionally located on the left side under the cockpit window and is accurately represented on our model.
