The sealing of the bands is done using a hot sealing process. This offers the advantage over ultrasonic technology devices that the more affordable, single-sided coated banding paper can be used. The hot sealing process is also simpler in design and less prone to malfunctions, which is another reason for the proverbial reliability of HIMA banding machines, even in professional continuous use.
