The torpedo boats of type 1939 built by F. Schichau in Elbing have excellent seaworthiness. They possess very good maneuverability even in bad weather, particularly in yaw movements, despite a tendency to take on the spray from the leeward side. They are well-armed, durable, and their overall appearance shows only a few minor differences between the individual boats, mainly regarding armament or the antennas of the detection systems and according to the era.
