Product details
The Redoutable (S 611), the first French nuclear submarine, was launched in March 1967, commissioned in 1971, and decommissioned in 1991. It is now the largest publicly displayed museum submarine in the world. The hull is made of highly elastic steel, allowing for diving depths of over 200 meters. The submarine is powered by a pressurized water reactor using enriched uranium. Its armament includes 16 missiles comparable to the US Polaris, as well as 4 torpedo tubes.
