Product details

In the early 1930s, following the abolition of trams in Paris and its suburbs, the first buses of the "TN" series were built. Advances in the automotive industry, particularly in tire technology, made it possible to develop buses with 50 or more seats. The TN series buses were equipped with four-cylinder engines producing 58 horsepower for the TN.4 models and six-cylinder engines with 94 horsepower for the TN.6 models. The TN.4 was intended for servicing small and medium routes on flat terrain, while the more powerful TN.6 was designed to handle long suburban routes and steep inclines, such as Montmartre, Ménilmontant, or Belleville. Externally, the TN.6A and TN.6C were identical, with the only difference being the wheels. The TN.6A had solid rims, while the TN.6C was fitted with detachable rims, known as artillery rims. The versatility of the TN.6C was well-known among bus drivers. During the war, the buses were equipped with a wood gasification system. After the war, the most significant change to the TN.6 was the enclosure of the driver's cabin to provide a minimum level of comfort during the winter months. Starting in 1960, the "TN" buses were phased out, with the last one being retired in 1969, 38 years after the introduction of the first models.
