Product details

In 1950, Boeing began developing a four-engine aircraft intended for both civilian and military purposes. On May 14, 1954, the Boeing plant in Renton produced a 367-80, which made its maiden flight on July 15. This prototype was used for the joint development of the KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft and the well-known Boeing 707 commercial aircraft. On October 15, Pan American ordered the first six jets, the Boeing 707-121. Subsequently, the Boeing 707 was developed alongside the various military versions C 135 and 137, leading to the creation of the 200 series and then the 300 series, which are quite different from each other. The Boeing 707, built in nearly 1,000 units, represents the beginnings of modern air travel. This aircraft was solid and reliable, and it was popular with both crews and passengers. They were typically designed for 134 passengers in two classes. The Boeing 707s of Air France were named after castles, with the "Château de Vincennes" being the second of the 29 aircraft ordered by the national French airline.
