Product details
The ocean tugboat Jean Bart, built at the Ateliers et Chantiers de France shipyard in Dunkirk for the Société de Remorquage et de Sauvetage du Nord, was commissioned on February 25, 1956. Equipped with two Werkspoor diesel engines, each with 1250 horsepower on the same shaft line, the vessel was among the largest ocean tugboats in Europe at the time. It was decommissioned in January 1965 in Dunkirk and sold to Holland in July of the same year, where it was renamed in Utrecht. In 1977, it began its third life in Greece under the name Kriti. In 1993, it set sail for Honduras, where it ultimately ended its career.
