The passive infrared sensor responds to moving heat sources such as people or vehicles. When the motion detector detects changes in thermal radiation within its detection range, it switches on the connected devices, such as lighting, for a set duration based on the configured light level. If the heat source leaves the detection area, the motion detector turns off the device after a pre-selected time of 3 seconds to 20 minutes. An additional feature is the short pulse function, which can be adjusted using the integrated TIME potentiometer located under the sensor's cover ring. This allows, for example, stairwell automation in larger buildings to be activated automatically.
