Product details

The rain detector is designed to operate with irrigation controllers with a maximum voltage of 24 V AC to avoid unnecessary watering during rainy weather. The detector features five working head positions and can be used with many low-voltage 24 V controllers, such as GB6964C, GB6968C, GB6991C, GBK3504TR, and GBK3506TR with normally closed (NC) connections. Collaboration with the 9V GB6980C controller in the mini-jack version (only the version produced from 2017 onwards) is possible after the user solders a mono mini-jack plug (the plug is not included). The detector does not work with controllers that have a normally open detector input. The detector operates on the principle of a mechanical switch activated by specially prepared spacers that expand when exposed to moisture. During rain and several hours after it ends, the contacts of the controller change their position and remain open. Changing the position of the contacts controls the operation of the irrigation controller or directly operates the valves by interrupting the power supply.
