In addition to the acoustic warning, the LED ring of the Nest Protect flashes red. Practical: The smoke detector is equipped with brightness and motion detectors. If you like, you can use it as a night light. As soon as the detector detects a person in the dark, the LED ring glows white and provides enough light to avoid having to grope around.
