Fortinet FortiAP 221E
867 Mbit/sProduct details
By combining a wireless controller with a FortiGate platform, the security level of the wired LAN is automatically extended to the WLAN environment. All WLAN traffic is thus routed based on identity through the UTM engines of the FortiGate appliance, where it is analyzed accordingly, and only authorized connections are allowed. This integration enables monitoring of network access from a single console, easy and quick updates to rule sets, and continuous checking of traffic and compliance with regulations. Since every FortiGate appliance has this wireless controller functionality, existing gateways can be enhanced with this feature through a simple operating system update, eliminating the need for an additional platform with its own administration interface. With the high performance and extensive range of the FortiAP series, establishing a highly secure and powerful WLAN infrastructure is simple and cost-effective. In many application scenarios, the installation of cabling to the workplace may even be unnecessary, as the throughput rates of the WLAN solution are often equivalently high.
