The sensor with PIR technology - PIR stands for passive infrared - reacts to minimal local temperature changes, which it perceives as infrared light with a specific wavelength. It registers people, vehicles and animals entering the detection area while ignoring swirling leaves or moving branches. It also ignores fluctuations in the general temperature, for example due to solar radiation. In this way, the motion detector avoids faulty switching and ensures reliable detection of relevant objects.
