The Extralink Sedir is a media converter that facilitates the transmission of media between FTP/UTP copper cables and SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) optical transceivers. The Extralink media converter is designed to meet the high demands of Ethernet deployment and allows for extension over fiber optic cables up to a maximum distance of 80 km (depending on the SFP module used). The installation and operation procedures are very straightforward. The device status can be monitored locally through a series of diagnostic lights on the front panel.
