Product details
The Homematic IP window and door contact is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and reliably monitors a door or window. It utilizes an innovative optical sensor, eliminating the need for an additional magnetic contact, thereby reducing installation effort. The built-in infrared light barrier immediately detects whether the window is opened or closed and relays this information within the system.
The "plus" design allows for low-maintenance operation by accommodating two AAA batteries, which provide an exceptionally long battery life of typically four years. In combination with other Homematic IP devices, the sensor performs multiple functions. On one hand, it automatically reduces the heat supply through a Homematic IP radiator thermostat when ventilating. On the other hand, it reliably monitors access to your home. Therefore, if a window or door is opened while the security mode is activated, the window contact triggers an alarm via the free Homematic IP app, allowing the user to respond immediately in case of an emergency. When using a Homematic IP siren, a loud signal is also emitted, which can deter unwanted intruders. Installation is flexible, using double-sided adhesive tape or screws on the window or door frame.
