The Homematic IP presence detector is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and reliably detects even the slightest movements indoors. When mounted on the ceiling, it registers movements within a radius of up to 3.5 meters and an angle of approximately 105°, capturing even small actions like typing on a keyboard. Larger movements are detected within a radius of up to 7 meters. Additionally, the integrated twilight sensor detects changes in brightness, allowing the lighting to be automatically turned on when movement is detected. The presence detector also serves as a sensitive sensor for alarm detection. To maintain detection sensitivity even at high room temperatures, the sensor automatically adjusts to the respective conditions. The small detector is mounted on the ceiling using screws that come with matching dowels. An integrated tamper contact reliably prevents unwanted changes to the presence detector after installation by sending a notification via the Homematic IP app as soon as the sensor unit is removed. The power supply consists of two LR6 batteries, which can power the presence detector for up to two years.
