These shielded patch and connection cables feature a shielded RJ45 connector, a molded strain relief, and a bending protection sleeve in the cable jacket color, as well as a latch protection on both sides. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is therefore excluded, and smoke generation is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant, and there is no risk of a dangerous ignition cord effect. Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP) refers to cables that have a metallic shield around each pair of wires (FTP) and an additional overall metallic shield (S). In shielded cables, there are hardly any impedance or reactance deviations compared to unshielded ones. The transmission parameters remain relatively constant and better than those of UTP cables, even at high frequencies.
