These shielded patch and connection cables feature a shielded RJ45 connector, a molded strain relief, and a bend protection sleeve in the cable jacket color, as well as a latch protection on both sides. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is thus excluded, and smoke generation is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant, and there is no dangerous ignition cord effect. Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP) refers to cables that have a metallic shield around each pair of wires (FTP) and additionally a metallic overall shield (S). Shielded cables exhibit minimal impedance or reactance deviations compared to unshielded ones. The transmission parameters remain relatively constant even at high frequencies and are better than those of UTP cables.
