Green technology energy saving features include connection status detection, LED shutdown, connection shutdown, and system sleep time-based PoE (DGS-1210-10P/28P/52P/52MP only). The D-Link Safeguard Engine protects the CPU from broadcast, multicast, and unicast flooding, while port security supports 64 MACs per port and ARP spoofing protection.

Intuitive management options include the D-Link Network Assistant utility or a web-based GUI, along with an integrated SNMP MIB for remote NMS (D-View 6.0) and a compact CLI via Telnet. Advanced features include Auto Surveillance VLAN, loopback detection that automatically disables a port when a control loop is detected, and cable diagnostics that allow administrators to determine cable status.
