The D-Link Gigabit Smart Managed Switches of the DGS-1210 series represent the latest generation featuring D-Link Green 3.0 technology. This series offers a high level of energy savings and efficiency as it complies with the IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard. With multiple management options, the Smart Managed Switches facilitate quick implementation, infrastructure expansion, and seamless function upgrades. Designed for small and medium-sized businesses, the DGS-1210 Smart Managed Switches provide functionality, security, and system management at a fraction of standard operating costs.

The Green Technology enables energy savings through features such as connection status detection, LED shutdown, port shutdown, system sleep mode, and time-based PoE (available only on DGS-1210-10P/28P/52P/52MP). Security features like the access control list secure the network, while the D-Link Safeguard Engine protects the CPU from broadcast, multicast, and unicast flooding. Port security supports 64 MAC addresses per port and offers ARP spoofing protection.

Intuitive management is facilitated through the D-Link Network Assistant utility or the web-based GUI. An integrated SNMP-MIB for remote NMS (D-View 6.0) as well as a compact CLI via Telnet are also available.

Advanced features such as Auto Surveillance VLAN and loopback detection automatically disable a port when a loop is detected. Cable diagnostics allow administrators to determine cable status, while SFP ports provide flexibility and support automatic MDI/MDIX.

The DGS-1210-10/10P/20/28 features a fanless design that enables quiet operation and contributes to extending device lifespan. In contrast, the DGS-1210-28P/52/52P/52MP has an intelligent fan design that activates when the switch reaches a certain temperature. This saves energy and reduces costs without compromising performance.
