The D-Link Gigabit 1000Base-T SFP Transceiver DGS-712 fits into Gigabit SFP slots of various switch models. This allows unused SFP ports to be utilized for Gigabit Ethernet twisted-pair (RJ-45) connections with cable lengths of up to 100 meters of category 5 or better. All D-Link SFP transceivers are hot-swappable and comply with the Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) standard as well as the Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) specification.
