The legendary Cuban diary of Che Guevara - now in an expanded new edition. Che Guevara's famous account of the Cuban Revolution (1956-1959), newly edited based on Che's own corrections, with a foreword by his daughter Aleida and many previously unpublished photos. On December 2, 1956, 83 freedom fighters land with the Granma on the shores of Las Coloradas in Cuba. Just over two years later, the now thousands-strong Cuban Liberation Army, operating from the Sierra Maestra, overthrows Batista's dictatorship in Havana. One of the guerrillas who was there from the first day is the young Argentine doctor Che Guevara. He documented the three years of struggle, detailing victories and defeats. His Cuban diary, which vividly captures the course of the liberation war, is not only a gripping portrayal of the guerrilla's military operations. Che Guevara also describes personal experiences with much humor, starting from his first encounter with Fidel Castro in Mexico, his fellow fighters, and daily life in the liberation army. "For a long time, we wanted to write the history of our revolution... But there is so much to do, the years go by, and the memories of the uprising fade into the past. These events have not yet been properly described, events that already belong to the history of America." Che Guevara's Bolivian diary is also now available in an expanded new edition. Both of Che Guevara's diaries have been adapted into a film by Steven Soderbergh - featuring Benicio del Toro and Franka Potente.
