To achieve successful results with watercolor paints, we recommend using watercolor paints in pots with pearlescent pigments, as the colors stand out particularly well against the black background. Alternatively, you can also use classic watercolor pots, where you mix the white paint with all the other colors in the palette. The colors appear in pastel shades on the black watercolor paper.

Oil pastel crayons: Use porous pastel color crayons, soft and oily oil pastels, or hard wax crayons directly on the watercolor paper. The brightest colors will appear most vividly on the black paper. Remember to fix the pastel crayons with a fixative once you are finished.
