For surface mounting, it includes features such as a door opener button, call volume adjustment, and ringtone deactivation. This is indicated by a red LED when the function is active. With the Mini Audio Handsfree, optionally connected relays can be activated or internal communication can be conducted. Furthermore, the device is equipped with a ring circuit for hearing aid users, which transmits audio directly into a compatible hearing aid, facilitating communication between the resident and the visitor at the door. During operation, this ring circuit emits a magnetic alternating field, which generates an electrical voltage in the hearing aid's receiving coil through electromagnetic induction, mirroring the audio signal's waveform. In the hearing aid, this is amplified by the audio amplifier and directed to the user's ear through the earphone. To utilize such induction loop systems, the hearing aid must be equipped with a so-called telephone coil (short: T-coil), which picks up the magnetic alternating field of the induction loop. Typically, when using the telephone coil, the hearing aid's microphone is deactivated.
