The Pastelmat paper for pastel painting is both unique and innovative. It is mounted on thick cardboard (1.8 mm) for added stability. This makes the Pastelmat paper easier to frame and allows the artist to work directly on the easel. Its velvety surface with a soft texture provides excellent pigment absorption capacity and enables layering of multiple color layers without saturation effects. The less rough surface also produces very little pastel dust during use, resulting in a pigment consumption that is 30 to 40% lower than traditional sandpaper. The Pastelmat paper can also be used for wet techniques with water-based or denatured alcohol-based paints, without compromising its unique properties.
