Self-fusing high-voltage insulating tape is a cold-weldable insulating tape made from polyisobutylene. It features an easily removable plastic release layer and is stress-welded under light tension to form a solid, air- and water-tight rubber layer. This tape is extremely stretchable (break elongation 600%) and adaptable, with lasting elasticity and compatibility with all materials for insulation and sheathing. It has a wide range of applications at various temperatures and excellent electrical properties, particularly dielectric strength. The tape is resistant to ozone, weather, and aging, making it ideal for sealing, connecting, insulating, and repairing live cables. It is particularly well-suited for voltage insulation of power cables up to 35 kV and offers very good repair properties, even for heavy rubber hoses. Additionally, it provides waterproof seals for electrical connections and junctions, such as those used in TV satellite dishes. It is also effective for securing cables outdoors, offers corrosion protection for metal parts, and is excellent for emergency repairs on radiators, water and motor hoses, vacuum cleaner hoses, drain basins, and pipes.
