Product details
The Bresser Startracker Photo Mount PM-100 is an equatorial star tracking mount designed for astrophotography, allowing photographers to capture detailed images of the night sky by automatically compensating for the Earth's rotation. This compact aluminum mount features a built-in tracking motor that precisely moves the camera against the Earth's rotation, enabling long exposure times while maintaining sharpness of the stars. With dimensions of 8.6 x 6.4 x 6.5 cm and a minimal weight, it supports cameras with lenses up to 2 kg in polar tracking mode and up to 5 kg in azimuth mode. The mount includes a ball head with a quick-release plate for easy camera attachment and alignment, requiring cameras to have a 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) tripod thread and bulb mode for long exposures. It operates on 4 AA batteries for up to 20 hours of continuous use, with a micro-USB port available for unlimited power supply. The high-precision stepper motor offers multiple tracking speeds and is controlled via a clear LCD display with a simple menu. Suitable for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, it supports time-lapse photography ranging from 15 minutes to 48 hours. An optional polar finder accessory facilitates accurate polar alignment by adjusting the estimated geographic latitude and aligning with Polaris. Wide-angle lenses with large apertures are recommended for beginners due to lower tracking accuracy requirements, while telephoto lenses up to 200 mm require precise polar alignment for optimal results. The black aluminum construction ensures durability and reliability for both amateur and experienced astrophotographers looking to capture celestial objects without star trails.
