Always direct the cutting direction of scissors and knives away from the body. Always place cutting tools with the blades closed in a visible location. The handle should point towards you! Store cutting tools separately to protect the blades and your fingers! Cutting tools should be sharpened regularly. The risk of injury is greater with dull cutting tools, and more force is required for the same cutting performance.
