The IP66 and NEMA 4X certified AXIS Q1615-E features a robust aluminum housing and a sun shield to reduce installation time and costs. It is protected against dust, rain, snow, and sunlight, suitable for use in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +50 °C, and utilizes High PoE (30 W).

The camera can not only operate at -40 °C but can also be restarted at this temperature after a power outage. This feature is known as AXIS Arctic Temperature Control. To ensure adequate heat supply, several heating elements are located directly on the camera and the viewing window. The AXIS Q1615-E has a dual housing design, where the inner shell retains heat in cold environments. In high-temperature environments, heat is effectively dissipated to the outer aluminum housing using a fan.
