The attenuation controller is used where there is a signal that is too strong from a cable or satellite source. Picture disturbances such as frozen images or heavy pixelation are indications of a signal level that is too high for the reception tuner. The F-connector allows the attenuator to be easily screwed on after the amplifier or multiswitch without additional adapters.
